One of the biggest fundraising events of the local United Way’s annual campaign takes place right here on KHMO Saturday.

The United Way of the Mark Twain Area’s annual radio auction runs from 8 a.m. till noon Saturday.

According to United Way Executive Director Denise Damron, the money raised Saturday will help up to 30,000 northeast Missourians.

The marquee item in the auction is nearly 400 cases of Progresso Soup from General Mills, along with a host of items donated by area merchants, with a retail value of over $10,000.
