Two staffers with Marion-Lewis County 9-1-1 are recognized for their help with a baby who wouldn’t wait for her parents to get to the hospital.
9-1-1 Executive Director Mike Hall and the board of directors commended shift supervisor Brooks Holley and telecommunicator Lisa Potter. Hall says the 9-1-1 center received a call at 2:44 Thursday morning from the expectant father who said he was driving to the hospital with his wife who was in labor. They stopped on the southbound exit ramp of US 61 at Missouri 6. Holley sent emergency responders to the scene. Potter provided step by step child birth instructions following emergency medical dispatch protocols.
