The Curtis Lovelace murder trial heads down the home stretch as testimony got underway Monday morning.

Special prosecutor Ed Parkinson continued to present his case against the former assistant state’s attorney and school board president.

Monday’s witnesses include Lovelace’s oldest child, Lyndsay, now a senior at the University of Iowa, who is the second of Lovelace’s children to testify.

Also on the witness list is Dr. Michael Baden, a nationally known pathologist who specializes in high profile cases.

Parkinson indicated he expected to wrap up the state’s case by noon Monday. Defense attorney James Elmore says he expects to wrap up his case no later than Friday.
