A traffic stop Wednesday afternoon by Adams County Sheriff’s deputies leads to an arrest on methamphetamine related charges.

West Central Illinois Task Force agents say 52-year-old Harold Hills of Liberty was arrested during a stop on Illinois 104 at County Road 1600 East.

Bricks, the Adams County Sheriff’s department K-9 unit, alerted for the presence of narcotics in the vehicle. A search turned up a quarter pound of ice methamphetamine.

Illinois State Police sergeant Patrick Frazier says Hills was the target of an ongoing investigation into transportation of the drug into Illinois from Missouri. Hills was taken to the Adams County Jail.
