A judge has ruled that the Lewis County 911 Board has to start over in contracting out the county’s 911 services.

According to Lewis County Sheriff David Parrish, a judge ruled Friday that the board violated the Missouri Sunshine Law when they contracted services to Marion County last year.

Parrish filed suit against the board following the decision, citing improper bidding and record keeping procedures, and violation of closed session meeting rules.

Parrish says the judge’s ruling makes the board’s contract with Marion County invalid. The 911 board will have to come up with a new contract by January 15th.
