Some Hannibal residents unhappy with how the Board of Public Works are taking action.

Citizens groups opposing Hannibal Board of Public Works use of chlorine-ammonia compounds in water disinfection take steps to put an initiative prohibiting that on the ballot. Proposed ordinance and petition paperwork have been filed with the Hannibal City Clerk’s office. The filing allows groups to begin collection signatures to get the question on the ballot. City code says petitioners must have signatures from at least ten percent of registered voters in Hannibal.
