The Hannibal Salvation Army celebrated another successful Christmas fundraising campaign Tuesday.

Campaign chairs Pat and Connie Benson announced that the 2018 campaign raised just over $108,000, exceeding the goal of $105,000.
The Tree of Lights Christmas Campaign is the Salvation Army’s major annual fund raising effort.

The money raised over the holidays goes toward Christmas assistance, but also funds programs throughout the year for residents of Marion, Ralls, Monroe, Shelby, Lewis and Pike counties in northeast Missouri.

This season was a record breaker for the Hannibal Salvation Army, as a record 755 families received Christmas food baskets this season. Also, over 1,400 children received toys as a result of the Toys for Tots program.
