Missouri Hospital Associations officials name Hannibal Regional Auxiliary as their Auxiliary of the year for 2016.

The award was given by the association during their 94th annual convention and trade show last week. The recognition is for volunteer efforts from June 2015 to May of 2016. During that time… the Hannibal Regional Auxiliary contributed over 23-thousand 700 hours of service.
Hannibal Regional Auxiliary members provide a wide variety of services to Hannibal Regional, including a Pet Therapy Program at the James E. Cary Cancer Center, greeting visitors and patients, working at the Caring Cup and staffing two gift shops.

“We are honored to be recognized as Auxiliary of the Year”, shares Karen Sutor, Hannibal Regional Auxiliary President. “Our group of volunteers is made up of people who truly care about their community and are doing their best to make a positive impact.”

Hannibal Regional Auxiliary was also recognized for their generous support of scholarships to Hannibal Regional team members. Every year Hannibal Regional Auxiliary awards scholarships to team members of Hannibal Regional Healthcare System. Since June of 2015 the Auxiliary has awarded a total of $7,000 in scholarships to deserving Hannibal Regional team members.

In total, Hannibal Regional Auxiliary contributed $99,374 to Hannibal Regional for equipment, services and scholarships. The Auxiliary hosts a variety of fundraisers each year such as the Glitz Gala Jewelry Auction, bake sales, Holiday Home tour and more! Hannibal Regional Auxiliary was formed in 1993 to help patients, families and visitors in a variety of ways and contribute to the community. Today, with more than 260 members, the Auxiliary donates approximately 25,000 hours of service each year.
