If you'd like to take a stroll in Hannibal's Central Park this week and enjoy a good book, you can do so -- without bringing a book.

The Hannibal Parks and Recreation Department's fourth Storybook Trail opened September 15 and runs through the 22nd.

Those who follow the trail can pause to read the the pages of "Itsy Bitsy Spider" by Keith Chapman. The pages of the book are posed on signs that can be read when you walk along the sidewalk in Central Park.

The book was donated by Scholastic, and the signs were donated by Park Place Sign Systems.

According to Parks & Rec Promotions and Planning Supervisor Mary Lynne Richards, "This is a free, family-oriented activity. This is a way to promote our parks, get people moving and encourage literacy."
