With the rains in the area earlier in the week and cooler temperatures, a number of area agencies have lifted burn bans that had been in effect.

In a press release, the city of Hannibal announced Thursday that they are lifting their burn ban effective immediately.

Although the ban has been lifted, officials remind the public to use good judgement and not burn on any days when wind gusts exceed ten miles per hour.

Also lifting burn bans for their areas Thursday were the Hannibal Rural Fire Department and Palmyra Fire Department.

Earlier in the week, burn bans had been lifted for Ralls County, Missouri and Pike County, Illinois.
