(Hannibal, Mo)— Main Street sidewalk issues appear on the Hannibal City Council agenda tonight.  Officials propose a new plan that extends the sidewalk on the west side to a full twelve feet—without steps, ramps or railings.  A memo from City Manager Jeff LaGarce says the change is accomplished by changing the slope of the street to match the grade level of the sidewalk.  The redesign increases costs, necessitating a vote to spend up to $35,000 in architect fees including storm water changes. The memo also calls for better communication between the architect, City, and business owners.
