The Hannibal Arts Council recognized several community members at its Annual Meeting and Paragon Art Awards on August 16. Presenting the 2018 awards were HAC President, Susan Till, HAC Executive Director, Michael Gaines and HAC Program Coordinator Brenda Beck Fisher. Award winners were presented original, one-of-a-kind award pieces by area artist Nick Sorrell.

Becky Evans won the The Ultimate Paragon, the highest award presented. Evans was recognized for her commitment and dedication as an HAC committee member and volunteerism. She currently participates in and volunteers for multiple programs and serves on the HAC Children’s Program and Gallery committees.

Also recognized with 2018 Paragon Art Awards were:

Leadership in the Arts (Art Project/Art Program) – Studio 57 Productions for their commitment to radio/theatre productions, Mississippi River Gallery and Mark Twain Himself for their contributions to the Hannibal art scene through exhibits and theatre;

Leadership in the Arts (Individual) – Dr. Clark Todd for his leadership in creating a series of outreach concerts with Culver Stockton College, Hannibal Concert Association and area CSC Trustees and Robert and Wendy Hendrickson for their continued volunteerism and participation in children’s programming and Hannibal Folklife Festival;

Leadership in the Arts (Business/Organization) – Harold Smith/KHMO Talk Back for steadfast inclusion of the arts via radio interview

shows and Kyle Mack/Shelter Insurance for his commitment to HAC through membership and exhibit sponsorship.
