Police say a western Illinois woman has been charged in connection to the death of her 19-month-old daughter.

The Quincy Herald-Whig reports 33-year-old Jody Price was charged Thursday in Hancock County court with endangering the life or health of a child.

Nauvoo Assistant Police Chief Mike Boley says the investigation is ongoing into the death of Price's daughter in July.

He says the Iowa Office of the State Medical Examiner conducted an autopsy but hasn't determined the cause of death. He says morphine was found in the girl's body and morphine pills were found near her bed and play area. Tests are ongoing.

Price is being held in the Hancock County Jail on $50,000 bond. It wasn't immediately clear if she has an attorney.

Illinois social services officials are also investigating.
