The Hannibal Police Department reports that five suspects were served with arrest warrants on Friday as a result of a focused effort by police to disrupt the supply of heroin in the City of Hannibal.

An investigation by detectives from the Hannibal Police Department's Narcotic Investigations Unit led to the arrest of 31-year-old Alvin Mayfield of Monroe City, 22-year-old Kazhul Simms of Hannibal, 32-year-old James Ivey Jr. of Hannibal, 38-year-old Jermale Miller of Ewing, and 51-year-old Keith Ashford of Hannibal.

All five suspects face numerous heroin-related charges.
