An evidence hearing is today for a man accused of killing his son in Pike County Missouri.
45-year-old Michael Lee Phillips of Saint John is charged with second-degree murder and armed criminal action. He’s accused of shooting 22-year-old Jeff Chisholm. The incident occurred shortly before 9 o’clock the night of August 31 of last year at a cabin on County Road 52 just off of Highway 61 between Bowling Green and Frankford.
Witnesses say the victim had been fighting with his father and other family members. In a probable cause statement, Phillips allegedly told authorities that he had no other choice but to shoot his son.
