Two search warrants were served and eight people were arrested on drug related charges in Hancock County Friday morning.
Sheriff Scott Bentzinger reports an ongoing investigation into meth making results in federal charges being filed against 31-year-old Willie Boyer of Niota and 27-year-old Jared Schiedel of Donnellson, Iowa. Both are charged with conspiracy to manufacture meth.

Later, search warrants executed in Niota and LaHarpe results in the arrests of 37-year-old Melissa Squire, 28-year-old Shane Taft and 40-year-old Tim Fye, all of LaHarpe, 23-year-old William Carey of Mt. Sterling and 42-year-old Brian Slowick of Nauvoo. All five are charged with participation of meth manufacturing.

Also taken into custody was 37-year-old Rodney Monroe of Niota, charged with possession of meth manufacturing material.

Sheriff Bentzinger says the investigation in meth making in Hancock County continues and more arrests are anticipated.
