The investigation continues into the discovery of human remains Wednesday evening north of the Oak Street Mall in Quincy.

Authorities believe the remains have been there for at least a year.

The identity of the remains has not been released, but police did find a man’s Missouri driver’s license at the scene.

Adams County Coroner Jim Keller says an autopsy will be performed on the remains in Bloomington Friday.

Quincy Police are investigating the discovery of human remains discovered at 8:45 Wednesday evening in the area north of the Oak Street Mall at 5009 Oak Street.

Police say it has been determined that the remains had been in that location for some time. No cause of death has been determined.

Police also say a tentative identification has been made and information on the identity will be released later.
