After a sunny and warm weekend, the coming week is forecast to wetter and cooler in northeast Missouri and western Illinois.

The National Weather Service says we will start the week with a continuation of warm temperatures and dry conditions. Highs Monday are expected to get to 86, with highs of 82 and 81 predicted for Tuesday and Wednesday.

The chance for showers and thunderstorms moves into the area Wednesday afternoon. The best chances of rain are Wednesday night and Thursday, with a diminished chance of precip Thursday night.

After the rain leaves, temperatures are expected to cool off. Highs should get to 75 Thursday, then drop to 67 and 64 Friday and Saturday before recovering to 71 Sunday.

Lows for the week will start in the upper 50s Monday, dropping to the mid 40s by the weekend.
