HANNIBAL – Warren Barrett Drive was closed for about two hours this morning after a coal truck overturned and spilled coal onto the roadway near the intersection of U.S. 61.
The accident occurred shortly after 9 a.m., involving a semi and two other vehicles.
Assistant Fire Chief Shawn Hampton says the semi tipped over and the two vehicles were hit by coal.
Authorities report no injuries. They also say the driver of the semi was at fault and will be cited.
Traffic on U.S. 61 was slowed for about an hour and a half.
A bulldozer was brought to the scene to collect the coal off of the roadway.
