One man is dead and another seriously injured after a one-car crash in Pike County.

The Missouri Highway Patrol reports the crash occurred on Pike County Route E at 7:20 p.m. Friday. Troopers say 18 year-old Kaleo Dade of Bowling Green was driving northbound on Route E near Route MM when his car struck a deer in the roadway. The impact caused his vehicle to travel off the road and strike an embankment.

Dade was pronounced dead at the scene. According to the Patrol's report, he was not buckled up at the time of the crash.

A passenger, 17 year-old Kyle Horner of Curryville sustained serious injuries and was airlifted to a hospital in Columbia.
