A local country singer who spent time in Nashville, came home and dropped out of the music business is back and getting "back to her roots."

Megan Myers is the featured performer in her "Back to My Roots" concert Saturday, July 26 at Hall's Hall in Palmyra. Show time is 7 p.m.

Megan's love for music took her to Nashville, where she made the rounds making music in Music City. Health and family issues brought her back to northeast Missouri and forced her to put music aside for a number of years.

Now, at the encouragement of friends and family, Megan is back singing and writing most of the songs she performs.

In finding a backup band for her concert, she tapped a trio of musicians known mainly for playing in area rock bands. The band features Tommy Lewellen on bass, Brian MCCune on guitar and Shane Decker on drums.

The concert will have something for everyone, with threads of country, rock, bluegrass and gospel in evidence throughout.

Admission to the Back to My Roots concert is $6.
