7 Things Missourians Should Never Ever Carry in a Wallet or Purse

I will confess that I am guilty of carrying almost every single item that experts have just warned that no one in Missouri should ever have in a wallet or purse. I'm guessing that you might very well have some or all of these with you, too.

I was in the process of cleaning out my wallet the other day so I could finally throw away receipts I no longer needed and other unnecessary things adding bulk to my backside. I got curious about things that remained that could be a security risk. My wallet was full of them.

Here are some things that companies like Discover, AARP, Kiplinger and others recommend you never keep in your Missouri wallet or purse. Here are the big don'ts of things you should never carry with you:

Whatever you do, don't write down online passwords and put them in your wallet or purse. Best idea is to write them down and put it in a safe in your home.

It's convenient to have a spare key in your wallet or purse, but also something that makes it easy for someone to not only rob what's in your handbag, but also endanger what's in your home.

This is one of the biggest no-no's of all as an original or notarized copy can fast-track someone into stealing everything about your identity and credit.

I was guilty of this, so I cast no stones. I kept a copy of a check in case I needed my routing and/or account number, but that's a very bad idea according to the experts.

I always thought the purpose of a wallet was to carry cash (which I rarely have, sadly) and credit cards. The experts say that's a very bad thing to do.

I have a gift card with a left over balance in my wallet right now which the experts say means I'm living dangerously.
