The Holiday Shopping season is here. In recent years, retailers have positioned themselves to bring big deals and sales during the Thanksgiving holiday weekend.
Good news for Missouri shoppers. The price of a Thanksgiving meal is not going up very much in 2015. The American Farm Bureau Federation says that the price for most items used to prepare a traditional Thanksgiving Day meal will be very similar to 2014 prices.
The real estate site Estately has put out a chart showing which states in America are most likely to have a miserable Thanksgiving. On the flip side you can see which ones are most likely to have a pleasant holiday.
This strikes me as very funny. Not only is Black Friday the busiest shopping day of the year, but it also turns out that it is one of the busiest days of the year for plumbers. Who would have thought that plumbing problems would be on the rise the day following the biggest pig-out of the year?
Quincy City Hall will be closed on Thursday, November 27, and Friday, November 28, in observance of the Thanksgiving Holiday. City Hall will reopen Monday, December 1, for regular business hours.

Every year a report comes out from the American Farm Bureau Federation that calculates the average cost of a Thanksgiving meal. Usually the cost is figured for enough food to feed ten people. I've always thought that was an awfully low number of guests to account for. At most Thanksgiving get-togethers I've attended, there are usually at least ten people just waiting in line for the bathroom!
