Hannibal Parks and Recreation crews continue to clean up and make repairs in the aftermath of last week’s storms.

This comes from Mary Lynne Richards at the Hannibal Parks & Recreation Department: Just like residences, streets and buildings, parks and facilities have been adversely affected by the Aug. 12 storm.

Clean-up efforts and restoration of power work continues in the aftermath of Friday’s severe storms in the area.

It was a stormy Father’s Day in Quincy.

Strong thunderstorms moved through the area Tuesday night into this morning.

The city of Quincy has officially begun the process of replacing the hundreds of trees destroyed in the storm that struck the city in July.

Damage from the July 13 windstorm that tore through Quincy is still clearly visible along city streets. Things are finally starting to return to normal in Quincy, but the volume of debris left from the storm will take some time to clean up.

Officials with the Western Illinois Fair say strong storms that moved through the state earlier this week toppled the top half of its grandstand.
