A former St. Louis city police human resources director who later served as a St. Louis Zoo ranger until March is jailed on charges that he sexually attacked two girls.
An investigation was conducted, by detectives of the Hannibal Police Department, regarding multiple reports of child molestation occurring over an extended period of time.
On April 15, 2014, at approximately 2:35 p.m., Damon K. Werteen, 49, of Marceline, Missouri, was arrested for felony statutory sodomy and felony child molestation. The arrest occurred at the Marceline Police Department following an investigation conducted by the Missouri State Highway Patrol's Division of Drug and Crime Control and the Marceline Police Department.
