Highway 79 from Church Street in Hannibal to Continental Cement on South 79 will be closed for the 21st annual Hannibal Cannibal on Saturday July 2. The highway will be closed down at 6:30 am and will begin reopening around 8:30 am.
Main Street will be closed from North Street to Church Street and Church Street will close from Main to Highway 79...
Motorists traveling both north and south on U.S. 61 just north of Troy will be detoured beginning at 12 noon today (Friday, June 19). The Missouri Department of Transportation is closing both bridges at the Cuivre River due to high water against the bridges.
Center Street in Hannibal is closed because of structural problems in the steeple at First Presbyterian Church at 6th and Center. Hannibal City officials say an inspection of the leaning steeple Thursday resulted in its condemnation after it was found that timbers in the steeple were rotted and damaged by the recent wind storm. Center is barricaded and caution tape is in place around the building.
Friday, April 19 at 1:00 P.M., MoDOT crews closed MO 79 south of Hannibal due to water over the road. The road is closed just south of the entrances to Sawyers Creek and Mark Twain Cave.
