The number of rabies cases have been rising in Missouri for the past 4 years.

It might be a good idea to take this warning from the state of Illinois seriously especially if you see bats in the daytime. The Land of Lincoln is warning that bats have been discovered in many Illinois counties to have rabies.

I had no idea this was possible, but it is. You can hypothetically run into a rabid bear in the Missouri woods. Camping will never be the same again.

No one wants to find a bat in their home. One Illinois man did and he's now dead from rabies. His death now serves as a warning about what (and not) to do if you find a bat in your home.

Another skunk has tested positive for rabies in southeast Missouri. That brings to five animals — four skunks and a horse — that have tested positive for rabies since January, all in the southeastern part of the state.

Missouri conservation officials are urging people to be cautious around skunks that soon will be emerging from winter shelters.
