Human Trafficking

A Missouri task force that aims to find ways to strengthen the state's laws against human trafficking begins meeting this week.

The title says it all: Human trafficking is the equivalent to modern day slavery. The topic of human trafficking is a dark and an uncomfortable issue; but, unless we are willing to have an honest discussion about it, the problem will persist.

A team of Missouri lawmakers, activists and others is set to begin efforts to raise awareness of human trafficking.

Cook County State's Attorney Anita Alvarez is enlisting Chicago-area hospitals in the fight against human trafficking.
