The best hole-in-the-wall restaurant in Illinois was born in Chicago's Little Italy in 1960.

It's not easy to stay in business for 75 years, but that's what Missouri's best hole-in-the-wall diner has done.

When I think of Missouri food specialties, I think of BBQ and ravioli. However, neither have been included as a top 10 food favorite for Guy Fieri and his Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives TV show. It's tacos from Missouri that have dinged the bell and been named 2 of Guy's favorites from around the country.

I only have one complaint about the times that Guy Fieri has brought his famous Food Network TV show to Missouri and that's the fact that he's focused on the cool restaurants only in the big cities and not the smaller towns. Still, he's had a lot of Missouri eateries on his show and this might be the complete list.

Guy Fieri seems like Missouri a lot. Or, at least he loves Missouri food as he's filmed numerous episodes of his famous TV show at dozens of popular food joints around the state and I have the complete list.

Say what you want about Missouri, but it has its fair share of really great diners. That means when one gets called out by the internet as "the best", that means something in the Show Me State. The newest choice of online experts isn't near St. Louis or Kansas City either.
