You won't find many homes that look like this especially in a place with a view like this. It looks like a storybook castle and it overlooks the mighty Mississippi River.

It's funny what you can find when you're checking out Instagram. In this case, I found a literal Midwestern castle that features a real working drawbridge, moat and waterfall and I have the pictures to prove it.

I have to admit when I think of Illinois, castles aren't the first thing that comes to mind. Perhaps I should reconsider as I've learned about a real Illinois castle that took 36 years to build.

Could I interest you an a Midwestern castle? One thing you should know is that it's mostly underground. Oh, and it's also a doomsday bunker.
