A Quincy man is in custody following a search of his residence late Monday afternoon.

Quincy Police were searching in the 600 block of Washington for a man who fled a traffic stop. As officers checked the area, an open door was observed at 638 Washington. While checking that residence, officers observed materials used in the production of methamphetamine. Police located and questioned the owner. 55 year old Timothy Wiemelt was arrested and taken to the Adams County Jail on charges of participation in meth production. West Central Illinois Task Force agents assisted in the search and cleanup.
