If you'd like to pretend you're the king or queen in the British Isles without leaving Missouri, it's possible. Yes, your majesty, you really can sip London tea in St. Louis, Missouri.

When I was a kid, I'd watch episodes of Benny Hill on Channel 11 in St. Louis endlessly. I had no idea where Britain was, but Benny Hill was funny. I've never had the chance to visit the United Kingdom even though I'd love to. I now know I can get some British "flavor" without leaving the states or even Missouri.

Only In Your State brought the London Tea Room in St. Louis to my attention. It's at 1900 Locust Street in the big city.

Hold on a second. I didn't know British people made cake that looked like this. God save the Queen.

I see that the London Tea Room offers what they call "experiences" with daily afternoon tea and Saturday morning tea with Peter Rabbit. Jolly good. Bunnies are awesome.

There's even a "Murder at the Abbey" murder/mystery event in March that looks fun. The English know how to party (albeit in a regal polite kind of way). (*Ahem*)

There you go. Wanna go to England, but don't have time or the money for the trip? Just road it to St. Louis and you're the closest thing you can be to becoming King Charles.

Now, back to finding Benny Hill episodes on YouTube.
