Wisconsin Suspect Caught After 100 MPH Chase Crosses to Illinois
This could have ended tragically, but fortunately did not. A police chase that began in Wisconsin and reportedly at times exceeded 100 mph ended with a dramatic takedown by law enforcement in Illinois.
The Pleasant Prairie Police Department just shared dramatic video on their Facebook page. It was a chase that happened on June 28 that eventually involved multiple law enforcement agencies in both Wisconsin and Illinois. After 2 efforts to deflate the fleeing suspects tires, he was eventually stopped in Illinois.
The Wisconsin police emphasized that Illinois is not an escape route, but "just more road". They say this was the result of this suspects wild police chase:
"The driver was charged with Felony Fleeing/Eluding, 5 counts of 1st Degree Reckless Endangering Safety, Hit and Run, Possession of Cocaine and Drug Paraphernalia, OWI, and numerous other Municipal citations."
They thanked the Kenosha County Sheriff's Office, City of Zion Illinois Police Department, Lake County IL Sheriff's Office, Zion Fire-Rescue Department, and Wisconsin State Patrol for helping bring this suspect's escape attempt to a safe end.
