One of my favorite follows on YouTube is Dan Bush and the Missouri Skies channel. He's obviously got some mad photographer skills and always seems to be at the right place at the right time. That's the case with this cool moment he captured in late February at the Loess Bluffs National Wildlife Refuge in Mound City, Missouri.

The 70,000 snow geese number is not a wild exaggeration either and I can prove it. First, check out Dan's video of these incredible birds.

The Forest and Wildlife Service keeps very close track of how many migratory birds are spotted in the Loess Bluffs National Wildlife Refuge. According to their numbers, the week that Dan Bush was there, they counted 73,015 snow geese alone in this part of Missouri. Incredible. Keep in mind there are lots of other birds that make this a stop on their travels, too not to mention the creatures in the lake.

It's that time of year when the weather starts to warm for Spring and we get to see more birds returning after a cold winter in other places. No better way to give your mind some peace thanks to thousands upon thousands of snow geese.
