It's no small thing when a span connecting Missouri and Illinois is not drivable, but that's the story for a St. Louis bridge that is suddenly closed for two days.

I saw the St. Louis part of the Missouri Department of Transportation share this bulletin on their Facebook page Monday night. It involves the Stan Musial Veterans Memorial Bridge.

They don't explain why, but I saw someone mention in the comments that this is due to a building fire near the Stan Musial Veterans Memorial Bridge and the St. Louis Fire Departments need to deal with it confirmed by Fox 2 in St. Louis.

The Missouri Department of Transportation online advisory says that all lanes both ways will be inaccessible for these two days. It says drivers can use the "Chain of Rocks Bridge, McKinley Bridge, MLK Bridge, Eads Bridge, Jefferson Barracks Bridge, or the Poplar Street Bridge to cross between Illinois and Missouri".

Might be a good idea to follow the Missouri Department of Transportation Facebook page for the latest updates on when this span between Missouri and Illinois is open again.
