Mystery Closure: St. Louis Pizza Place Shuts Down

I feel sorry for this restaurant owner. This year has been challenging enough for food places, but this St. Louis area pizza place has closed down and the reason is very unclear based on what he shared on social media.

Have you been to Sonny's Pizza Den in Maryland Heights, Missouri? It wasn't that many months ago that this pizza place opened and already their doors are closed. Here's what was shared on their Facebook page.

Based on the responses to that post, I'm not the only one who's surprised that they're shutting down. If you look at the Yelp reviews of Sonny's Pizza Den, you'll see it was highly-rated by many. Averaging over 4 out of 5 stars is very good for a new restaurant. The health score on Yelp was 98 out of 100 which is exceptional. There were comments by the owner about issues with a smoking bar nearby, but it's not clear that was the reason for this sudden closure. No matter as it's just plain sad to see a mom and pop restaurant have to shut down. Here's hoping they can find a way to reopen perhaps in a new location. If that happens, I'll be happy to spread the word.
