It's almost a certainty that nearly every location in Missouri will get rain this weekend. The only questions are how much and when. That depends on where you are, but know for a fact that many Missouri places will get completely rained on this weekend and some will get quite a lot of moisture.

The National Weather Service in St. Louis, Missouri shared an interesting graphic today describing the weekend rain event that's approaching. Someone at the NWS put a lot of effort into creating a grid showing different areas of Missouri and when they can expect rain and storms to impact.

The National Weather Service in Springfield is showing pockets of Missouri that will get 3 to 4 inches between now and Monday.

My wife, the meteorologist, told me point blank that northeast Missouri specifically can expect around 2 inches of rain this weekend. Whether that's a good or a bad thing depends on whether you're a farmer. If you're a homeowner like me with a super-dry yard, you welcome the moisture. If you're a farmer trying to get out into the fields to harvest crops, you're probably not excited about the prospect of big rain in Missouri.

If you look at Saturday's forecast, you'll see practically all of Missouri is expecting rain.
