Pope Leo XIV’s Childhood Home in Illinois Where His Journey Began
Everyone begins somewhere. For the newly-elected pope, it was a very unassuming home in a small town in Illinois that you can see several different ways.
I was clued into the childhood home of Pope Leo XIV by a realtor in Dolton, Illinois who shared a quick video showing what the home looks like now and where it's located. It's 212 E 141st Place in Dolton. For the record, not everyone believes that this is really the Pope's childhood home.
Thanks to Google Street View, you can see it from several different angles.
As the realtor mentioned in her video, the home was on the market for sale until May 5. It was then removed from the market for obvious reasons. It's possible the owner will relist at a much higher price considering its historic significance now or it could be converted into a tourist site. So many possibilities, but you can keep an eye on the Realtor listing to see if returns to the market.
