New Soup, Salad & Sandwich Place Just Opened in Illinois
The building used to be known for pizzas, but not anymore. Now, there's a new soup, salad and sandwich option which has just opened in Illinois.
Have you driven by 1100 S. Hwy 157 in Edwardsville, Illinois lately? In past years, it looked like this - the home of an Imo's Pizza.
Now, it's Sandy's Soups as they announced on Facebook that they just opened this week.
The Sandy's Soups website shows they offer (you guessed it) soups, salads and sandwiches. It's worth mentioning that they are closed on Mondays and Tuesdays, but open Wednesday through Saturday from 10am until 4pm.
This isn't the first former fast food place that's now occupied by a mom and pop eatery. It was just a few days ago that I shared the word that Shorty's Diner in the St. Louis area was moving into a former Hardee's building. I have nothing against the larger chain restaurants, but I do find it encouraging that more mom and pop food places are thriving where the big boys could not. Let's hope this new soup place in Edwardsville is successful for the long haul.
