This is the thing that should never happen, but it sadly frequently does. There's alarming data that reveals the 10 most dangerous Illinois cities for women.

This is not based on a ranking from another website or someone's opinion. The numbers I've found come from one complete year of data from the FBI showing the Illinois cities with the most incidents of rape.

Number one is the least shocking thing you'll see in this list as it's almost a given, but there are many other Illinois places with incredible numbers of rape cases despite the fact that they proportionately have smaller populations.

How can Illinois less then incidents of violence against women?

The United Nations Women organization says the best thing you can do is listen to and believe survivors. They also advise to learn the signs of abuse for those that won't speak for themselves. Finally, taking a stand against "rape culture" is vital.

Frankly, I wish more men would be vocal about this issue. For those that still believe in honor, surely we're better than this and can demand accountability from our brothers. No woman should ever have to endure crimes like this and it's about time that men do a better job of standing up to the bullies and doing something about it.
