Suspect on the Run After Officer Shot in Missouri
The Missouri State Highway Patrol are in pursuit of a suspect who allegedly shot an officer who was investigating a domestic disturbance incident and are asking for the public's help in finding him.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol shared an urgent blue alert earlier today on their Facebook page saying they are pursuing a suspect who's still on the run. The Missouri police officer was responding to a domestic disturbance when the suspect allegedly shot him then escaped in a vehicle.
What is a blue alert and what does it mean?
A blue alert is issued when a suspect has shot and killed or seriously injured a police officer. That is sadly the case for this suspect being sought in the Lee's Summit area. Fox 4 in Kansas City is reporting that this blue alert was issued after an overnight search did not locate the man. They say that the police officer who was shot remains in serious condition. If you have any information about the location of this suspect or any information that would help the investigation, you can contact the Missouri State Highway Patrol.
As this is a developing story, it will be updated once new information is released by the Missouri State Highway Patrol.
