There's no mention of exactly where this Missouri man ran into this big black bear. The video says "Sow Black Bear with Cubs Show Up During Missouri Mushroom Hunt".

You're likely familiar with the song "Looking for Love" by Johnny Lee. Looking for love in all the wrong places, looking for love...in this case, he was looking for mushrooms in all the wrong Missouri places.

The fact that this Missouri guy ran upon a black bear sow with cubs makes his encounter a little more dangerous as a mama bear is protective of her young ones. While most bears will flee when they know that humans are near, a mother bear might just view this mushroom hunting Missourian as a threat to her cubs. Fortunately, she did not and we have this fun close encounter of the bear kind in Missouri to laugh about. Could have gone the other way.

Pro Tip from the Missouri Department of Conservation. If you encounter a bear in the woods, give the animal an escape route and don't corner them. Speak in a calm voice and slowly walk away. Sneaking up on a bear and surprising it likely won't end well for you or the bear.
