
Missouri Man Faces 3 Decades Behind Bars for Child Crimes
A Missouri man now faces three decades in federal prison for crimes he committed with children, some as young as 3 and 4 years old.
The FBI in St. Louis shared news of a Missouri man guilty of doing terrible crimes involving the youngest among us.
The US Attorney's Office in the Eastern District of Missouri says Clinton Rongey, now 53 of Carter County, Missouri will spend 30 years behind bars as he was convicted by a jury of one count of sexual exploitation of a minor which included 100 images of child pornography produced between February and November of 2023. They say he had been entrusted with the care of the victim that was 3 and 4 years old at the time of the multiple instances of this crime. He was caught due to investigations carried out by Carter County, Missouri law enforcement and the FBI. They say this case was investigated and prosecuted as part of Project Safe Childhood that was launched in 2006 by the US Department of Justice in an effort to crack down on child sexual exploitation. The goal is to prosecute those who commit these crimes and rescue victims.
