Missouri Just Issued a Warning about the Record Measles Outbreak
If you're unaware, there is a record measles outbreak that has affected many states and now Missouri has issued a stern warning about this ongoing health issue.
I saw the Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services shared a link to a bulletin from the CDC about the measles outbreak that has been a problem in many states early this year. To be clear, there are no current cases of the measles in Missouri as of the date of this writing. But, the bulletin seems concerned about the warmer weather months and the upcoming travel season.
There are currently 222 cases of the measles being reported across the country with the highest concentration being Texas which has recorded a record number of cases in 2025. They advise caution among those who will be traveling from Missouri to other states for upcoming vacations especially among those who have compromised immune systems.
Where have cases of the measles been confirmed?
Here's a map shared by the CDC showing current cases of the measles. As you can see, one of Missouri's neighbors, Kentucky, is now among the states where there are confirmed measles reports.
While there are no measles cases in Missouri at this time, this warning comes as a heads up to Spring and summer travelers to be cautious especially in states where cases are exploding like Texas and New Mexico.
