133 Illinois Jobs Were Just Shipped Off to Massachusetts

I have never liked the New England Patriots and that's even more true now. I've just learned that 133 Illinois jobs were just shipped off to Massachusetts and I can prove it.

I have confirmation of this robbery of Illinois jobs by Massachusetts from two different sources. I first saw the notice from the Illinois Work Net Center site showing a mass layoff of 133 in Libertyville, Illinois by Bristol Myer Squibb.

As I dug deeper, I found an article just shared by Fierce Pharma (my favorite pharmaceutical website name ever) which confirms this is accurate and adds even more details. It says that the Libertyville, Illinois location is being scaled back and they would be "shifting cell therapy vector production to MA". That abbreviation obviously means those 133 Illinois jobs are moving to the former land of Tom Brady aka Massachusetts. They mention that the Libertyville, Illinois location was "a former Novartis facility" that was acquired back in 2023.

This new mass layoff in Illinois brings the total number of workers in the Land of Lincoln that have been let go in just the past 90 days to 6,536.
