Killer on the Loose, Illinois Police Issue Warning

Illinois State Police are asking for the public's help in solving a mystery. They've found the body of a victim, but the killer remains on the loose according to the latest update from law enforcement.

According to a press release from the Public Information Office of the Illinois State Police, this incident began with a missing persons report. On May 27, 2025, they say the Kewanee, Illinois Police Department requested their help in locating Catrelle Reed who had been reported missing. Three days later, police located the body of the victim deceased located near the intersection of Highway 81 and East 2350th Street just west of Kewanee which is approximately here according to Google Maps Street View.

The Illinois State Police say an autopsy of the victim determined that the death was the result of a homicide. The mystery is who is responsible for this crime as there are no suspects that have been identified and released as of this writing. That's why the Illinois State Police are asking for help from anyone who might have witnessed anything odd or have any information that would help in their investigation.
