Illinois Couple Say They Saw a Huge Object Over Lake Arrowhead

If nothing else, they certainly have told a colorful story. A couple in Illinois claim they saw a huge metallic object of a lake which they say made them believers in this phenomena.

Have you been to Lake Arrowhead in Illinois lately? I'm asking because that's where one of the most recent reports to the National UFO Reporting Center site originates from. The Arrowhead Lake Campground is near Johnson City, Illinois.

According to their eyewitness testimony, this encounter of the Illinois UFO lake kind happened around 7:01pm on February 20, 2025. It's really hard to share something like this without their exact words so I don't misrepresent what they're trying to say. I've added emphasis to the most important part:

"Me and my wife were sitting by the parking lot near the cemetery when all of the sudden we saw a big metallic disc looking object hovering probably 500 feet above the lake. The bottom of it was glowing, ember colored. My wife and I were frozen in awe. It stood still hovering for almost 3 minutes then shot up into the sky in an instant. It was almost 20 feet in diameter. It had almost a hypnotizing effect on us and felt like it felt our presence, as we were unable to reach for our phones. It was a surreal experience and I am now a believer."

If you're familiar with this lake, you know it's just northeast of Johnson City, Illinois. I'm not questioning the couple's story, but if a large object were over that lake, you'd have to think someone else in Johnson City would have seen it, too. As it stands, it's an interesting story of what may have cruised across our Illinois skies recently.
