I will admit that I'm pretty jaded when it comes to new attractions, but there are 2 in Illinois that now have my undivided attention as they're both up for the best new attraction in America award.

There are very few awards more prestigious than the ones that USA Today do as they're a result of what their audience says is best. Now through December 23, they're deciding which new attraction is the best in America and two of them call Illinois home.

Flyover in Chicago, Illinois

As you walk into Flyover in Chicago, you get a video warm-up for what you'll experience once you sit down in the moving seats that will make you feel like you're flying around the most famous landmarks of the Windy City. Think Spiderman, but with no need for a web.

Wonderverse in Oak Brook, Illinois

If you enjoy virtual reality, then Wonderverse is something you need to experience. That's especially true if you enjoy "refreshments", too. Think Dave & Busters, but in virtual reality on steroids and you have a hint of what you're in for.

There are just over a dozen nominees for the best new attraction in America award from around the country. Right before Christmas, we'll find out if either of the Illinois places get the crown. I have a hunch that Flyover might be the chosen one. We shall see soon enough.
