Shocker – #1 Fast Food Mascot Has 148 Illinois Places, Not Ronald

During my youth, I could have told you who the #1 fast food mascot was and I doubt anyone would have disagreed. Now, it's a completely different story as the new #1 rated fast food mascot isn't Ronald McDonald, but is located in virtually every part of Illinois with 148 restaurants.

If you look at the new fast food mascot rankings that were just shared by Study Finds, I predict you'll likely be surprised, too. This isn't their opinion either, by the way. According to their methodology, they compiled rankings from 10 what they call "expert review sites".

If it's not Ronald McDonald, who is the #1 fast food mascot? They say it's Colonel Sanders of KFC.

I knew there were a lot of KFC locations in Illinois, but had no idea that their official site says there are a whopping (no Burger King pun intended) 148.

I think there's a lot of nostalgia for the original Colonel Sanders. The younger generation seems to like the recent comedian impersonations more than I did. I still find it very surprising that Ronald McDonald did not end up at the top of the fast food mascot podium. How the mighty have fallen, but he is still #2 which isn't that bad.
