Illinois Gives 5 Signs 764 Networks May Be Targeting Your Child
There's a new warning from authorities in Illinois that every parent should see. It's 5 signs that your child may be a target of violent 764 networks.
The United States Attorney's Office in the Eastern District of Illinois just issued a chilling statement recently involving what are referred to as 764 networks or NVE. Here's how they define it:
"These networks, often referred to as “764” or “Nihilistic Violent Extremism” (NVE), represent a decentralized extremist subculture that weaponizes digital platforms to exploit and radicalize children."
They provided 5 warning signs that your child may be a target:
Physical Markers: Look for cuts on your child's body that include references to 764 or platform names that will likely be in a hidden place not visible that could be covered by clothing
Behavioral Changes: A sudden change in behavior that could include seclusion or unusual irritability. Fits of rage over normally inconsequential issues.
Animal Cruelty or Aggression: A desire to harm animals or sudden combative behavior towards friends and/or siblings.
Digital Red Flags: Unexpected packages arrive addressed to your child
Dark Ideation: A desire to obtain violent materials or weapons that might include a desire to be alone or expressions of not feeling wanted or included.
If you see any of the above signs, you and your child may need professional help. These 764 (or NVE) networks are sometimes connected to organized crime. That's one reason the FBI in Illinois is warning about their increased presence and the need for parents to be able to identify the warning signs before it's too late.
